can I use the bluetooth usb stick to connect the toothpick module to my laptop?

Parts came Monday March 24th.
Parts include:
We have read of the data sheets for both components and are beginning to understand more and more about them.
We have also downloaded software to build and compile software that we will be designing.

We have selected two parts that we will require to take the next step in our research project. These are outlined in the "Blog" section of this site.
The total cost for these components is approx. $300 for the bluetooth module and microcontroller and the development kit.
Would it be possible to get funding for these components so we may continue with the project?
